Global Education Access

GVF is committed to reaching individuals facing economic barriers to enable access to international educational opportunities in conservation and conservation education, biodiversity stewardship, and sustainability practices and/or policy. Access to these experiences is fundamental in the global effort to protect our planet

Please note that GVF only funds 501(c)(3) organizations offering conservation and/or sustainability education programming for developing countries and minority-serving schools in the U.S. We do not fund individuals directly.

    Study Abroad

    The study abroad experience is essential for understanding our globalized world. GVF supports U.S. university student participation in overseas programs run by US-based 501(c)(3) entities. Scholarships partially cover travel, program fees, and lodging for programs emphasizing sustainability and/or conservation.

    Institutes, Think Tanks & Workshops

    Global Vistas partners with non-profit organizations and NGOs to provide opportunities for training and innovation in conservation science and management, sustainable practices, biodiversity stewardship via sponsorship and travel expense stipends to attend relevant institutes, think tanks and workshops.

    Field Schools

    GVF strongly believes you “have to go there” to truly understand the complexities involved in protecting the planet’s biodiversity. GVF supports U.S. university student participation in well-run field schools in geographical areas with high levels of biodiversity threatened by human activity (i.e., biodiversity hotspots).
